All natural habitats are essential for the species of plants, animals, insects and microorganisms that inhabit them, and they influence and stabilise our climate, temperatures, rainfall, ocean currents and more.
In these paintings, forest and oceans and birds and fish are representative of all those habitats and species. Because we now know that these are all linked biologically (fish proteins are found in trees near rivers far inland, for instance). I've mixed them up here, and there are fish in trees and birds everywhere.
This series is meant to be a celebration of the diversity and richness of nature, and the life that we should be protecting.
